India is not a country most foreigners can drive in. The traffic can be chaotic
and daunting, with herds of cattle often bringing all movement to a halt.
The choice of driver and vehicle is of utmost importance to ensure the success
of a tour.
At india-welcomes.com we take extra care while arranging transport for our
valued clients. For individual tourists, we ensure that the vehicle selection
takes place in line with all aspects of their tour plans. Factors like the
number of days of travel; the places being visited; the terrain, and number
of bags they are traveling with – all matter in the selection process.
For example, for a group of 12 people traveling to Leh – Ladakh, we
recommend using 4 SUV type vehicles, while for a similar group of people traveling
to Agra – Jaipur, we recommend the use of a mini-coach.
At india-welcomes.com we only use the newest buses, mini-buses and cars for
our clients. Our drivers are knowledgeable, with high safety conscious and
of presentable appearance.
For a traveler's reference, the following vehicles are available in India:-
» Large Coaches:- :- These are 35 seaters - though for
the sake of comfort, we do not recommend more than 30 people in a bus. The
buses in India are air-conditioned, but do not have toilets. However, for
trips to the Himalayan region and Nepal most coaches are non air-conditioned.
» Mini-Coaches- These have 18 seats. Again we recommend
that not more than 14 people use a mini-coach
» Micro- buses - These have 9 seats and are ideal for
groups up to 6 people.
» Toyota SUVs- These are small outdoor vehicles and can
seat 3 comfortably.
» Cars - Most Indian cars are good for only 3 people traveling
together. The larger cars on the road are equivalent to American 'Compacts.
» Luxury Cars- These are mainly Mercedes Benz
cars. We use the E class and S class Mercedes
