ITINERARY:
Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
Arrive at the Delhi airport, where our representative will be waiting to escort you to the hotel. Your tiredness will fly in seconds by the traditional welcome that you will be getting at the hotel's reception. Check in and relax amidst the world-class hotel facilities.
Day 02: Delhi
Post a healthy breakfast at the hotel head for a guided tour of the magical city of Old Delhi. Let the ancient monuments like the Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, Raj Ghat, memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, Qutub Minar and India Gate, Humayun's Tomb, Parliament House and the Presidential Palace are some other places of interest.
Day 03: Delhi - Mandawa
Begin the 3 rd day of your Classical Tour of North India with a 3-hour drive to Mandawa. Lying at the heart of Shekhavati, Mandawa is famous for its Havelis and traditional murals. Come get enchanted with the old-world charm of Mandawa. Later return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Mandawa.
Day 04: Mandawa - Jaipur
Post breakfast head for a 4-hour drive to Jaipur. On arrival in Jaipur, check in to your hotel and rest for a while. Later go on a stroll in the market and watch the precious gems in some jewellery showrooms. Walk through the vibrant bazaars and try buying stuffs like carpets, mirror works, textiles and silver jewellery.
Day 05: Jaipur
Having a healthy breakfast at the hotel and move on for a sightseeing tour of the pink city. Amber Fort , City Palace and Museum , Jantar Mantar Observatory , Hawa Mahal , Birla Temple , Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort are places worth visiting during the Classical Tour of North India. Return to the hotel for overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 06: Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
After having a breakfast head for Agra, which is only a 4 ½ hour drive from Jaipur. Agra. Do visit the ruined fort city of Fatehpur Sikri while you are on your way to Agra. Places like the Royal Palace , Panch Mahal , Jami Masjid and Buland Darwaza are worth visiting in Fatehpur Sikri.
On arrival in Agra, check in at the hotel and relax for the day. Go and visit the ancient markets of Agra in the evening. It's needless to say that you must visit the beautiful Taj Mahal in Agra. Besides the Taj, places like Akbar's Tomb , Agra Fort and Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb are worth visiting during the Classical Tour of North India.
Day 07 : Agra – Jhansi (By Shatabdi Express : 0820 / 1040 hrs)
Jhansi – Orchha – Khajuraho (Approx 4 ½ hrs drive)
After breakfast board the train to Jhansi. On arrival at Jhansi proceed to Khajuraho. Enroute visit Orchha Fort. Continue to Khajuraho. Arrive and check in to The Jass Radisson (Deluxe Room). Khajuraho is India's unique gift to the world. Of the original 85 temples, 22 survive, enthralling visitors worldwide.
Day 08 : Khajuraho – Varanasi (By flight)
After breakfast, tour the Temples of Khajuraho, The Eastern Group of Temples and The Western Group of Temples. Afternoon board the flight to Varanasi. Founded by Lord Shiva, Varanasi, "the City of Light" is one of the most sacred Hindu cities. Check in at the hotel, rest for a while and then head for a tour to Sarnath , known as the Buddhist center of art and learning. Watch out for Dhamek Stupa , Ashoka Pillar ,Archaeological Museum and the Main Shrine at Sarnath.
Day 09: Varanasi - Delhi
Have a holy start of the last day of your Classical Tour of North India with a boat ride on the holy River Ganges . Don't miss out a bath and devoting prayers at the Ganges. Post breakfast, pay visits to the holy temples like Kashi Vishwanath . Go for shopping spree and try buying silk brocades and sarees. Board the flight back to Delhi at afternoon. On arrival, board the flight back home or for your onward journey.
